The March Break Bucket List: 5 Things You Can’t Miss in Montreal

Your March Break trip is around the corner, and trust us, it’s going to fly by. Between the bus rides, events, and exploring Montreal, there’s so much to do (and not nearly enough time to do it all). To help you make the most of it, here are five things you can’t miss during your Breakaway Tours weekend.
1. Grab Poutine from La Banquise
You can’t say you went to Montreal without trying poutine… fries, cheese curds, gravy, and pure happiness. La Banquise is open 24/7 and has tons of versions to try (yes, even breakfast poutine). Perfect for a late-night snack run with your crew.
2. Explore Old Montreal
Cobblestone streets, cozy cafés, and architecture that looks straight out of Europe, Old Montreal is a must. Walk down Rue Saint-Paul, stop for coffee at Crew Collective (inside an old bank!), and take pics by the Old Port ferris wheel.
3. Go Shopping on Sainte-Catherine Street
From big brands to local boutiques, Sainte-Catherine has it all. It’s also the perfect spot to grab souvenirs or find a last-minute outfit for one of the trip’s events.
4. Check Out the Views from Mount Royal
If you have a free afternoon, grab your friends and head up Mount Royal for an amazing view of the city skyline. It’s an easy walk, totally Insta-worthy, and a great way to balance out all the late-night fun.
5. Try Montreal Bagels
Fairmount and St-Viateur are the two legendary bagel spots…. locals argue over which is better. Try both and settle the debate yourself. Bonus: they’re open late, and the bagels come straight out of the oven warm.
